The faculty team comprises Professors, Associates Professors, and Registrars. Faculty members attend national, international orthopedic conferences and present papers.
Curriculum
A streamlined teaching program has been designed for the undergraduates who are posted to the Orthopedic Department in rotation. Clinical demonstration classes take place in the outpatient department, and the students are trained through clinical examinations and presentations. Students are encouraged to interact with the faculty members to create an atmosphere of trust. The students are exposed to pre-operative planning where surgical cases are discussed in great detail.
Clinics and facilities
The department has a full-fledged outpatient department aswell as Indoor Orthopeadic Unit. But the main focus is on the orthopedic ward. The ward is well-staffed and has all the instruments necessary for handling simple to compound fracture cases.
For trauma patients the ICU’s where blood pressure, pulse rate, heart rate, saturation and perfusion are monitored. Two fully qualified plaster technicians, and support personnel like nurses take care of the patients in the wards and ICUs. The operation theaters are fully functional and several types of operations take place.
